If you want to leave your current team — whether to join a different one, take a break, or for any other reason — your team manager must remove you from the roster. Players cannot remove themselves.

How to get removed from a team

1

Contact your team manager

Reach out to your manager via Discord or any other way you communicate with your team. Let them know you want to be removed from the roster and why (optional, but professional to explain).
2

Manager removes you from the roster

The manager goes to the team’s Roster tab and removes you. The removal is immediate. See Managing Roster for the manager’s side of this process.
3

Confirm you are no longer on the team

Check your profile — you should no longer see a team affiliation. You are now free to join a new team.
If your manager is unresponsive and you urgently need to be removed (for example, to join another team before a registration deadline), contact staff in the C3 Esports Discord. Staff can forcibly remove a player from a roster in exceptional circumstances, but this is not the normal process.

Mid-season roster drops

Leaving a team mid-season has consequences for both you and your team:
Mid-season roster drops may violate roster lock rules. After the roster lock date, roster changes require staff approval. Check Roster Rules for the current season’s lock dates.
For you:
  • You cannot join a new team until the transfer window opens, unless your current season has not yet started (team is still in Draft/Pending).
  • Depending on timing, you may be ineligible to compete for a new team for the remainder of the season.
For your team:
  • If your removal drops the roster below the minimum of 3 eligible players, the team may be unable to compete in remaining matches.
  • Matches may be forfeited if the team cannot field enough eligible players.
If you need to leave for unavoidable reasons (illness, academic pressure, etc.), communicate with your manager as early as possible. Giving them time to find a replacement is the respectful thing to do.

Leaving vs. being removed

There is no functional difference — in both cases, the manager removes you via the roster management page. There is no “leave team” button available to players. If there is a conflict with your manager and you cannot get removed, staff can help — see the note above about contacting staff.

After you leave

Once removed from your team:
  • Your player profile and stats remain on the platform.
  • Your match history from that team’s season stays visible in standings and match records.
  • You can join a new team using a new invite code (subject to transfer window rules).

Frequently asked questions

If you were removed without your consent and want to contest it, contact staff in the C3 Esports Discord. Staff can investigate but generally do not force teams to reinstate players.
Ask your manager to re-add you with the invite code. As long as the roster is not full and you are still eligible, you can rejoin.
Only during a transfer window. Outside of transfer windows, roster changes are restricted. Contact staff if you have an urgent situation.
